Dallara has confirmed that work on its 2010 F1 chassis, commissioned by the Campos team, is still on schedule.

Campos' F1 future still remains in doubt as the team has yet to confirm a new investor, which is believed to be necessary to secure the outfit's future. One of the reasons the team needed a cash injection was to pay Dallara's bill that is rumoured to remain outstanding.

However, Dallara boss Gian Paolo Dallara said the chassis is very near completion and was confident that his company's hard work would not be in vain.

"I can say with pride that we have done a good job in design and development, all safety [crash] tests have been passed and production has gone ahead," he said. "Unfortunately, factors outside our control are slowing the process down, but I am confident that we can find solutions so that our work is not lost."

Serbian outfit Stefan GP has been rumoured to be in talks with Dallara, but it is more likely that it would ask the Italian firm to help develop its ex-Toyota chassis than buy the Campos one. US F1 has also been linked to Dallara, but boss Peter Windsor has always insisted his team will build its own car at its base in Charlotte, USA.
