More rule changes set for 2010
The FIA have tweaked a number of rules ahead of next year's season.
Added to the adjustment of the testing ban to cater for mid-season replacements, the allowance for aerodynamic testing has been reduced from eight days to six. Teams will have the option of swapping any of those days for four hours of full-scale windtunnel testing.
Race garages, which had previously been allocated according to final position in the previous years' Constructor's Championship, will now be distributed on a race-by-race basis in order to ensure that working space is fairly distributed.
Drivers exceeding the maximum of eight engines per season twice in a single grand prix weekend will now face a ten-grid penalty for both the race weekend in which the restriction is breached and in the following grand prix.
With the 2010 field increasing to 26 cars, it has also been confirmed that during qualifying eight cars are eliminated in Q1 and Q2, rather than the five that were sidelined at the end of each session this year.
